Anyone attending the Quonset air show this weekend? In the past, they have had the announcer's broadcast over the radio but I can't find any info on it this year.

We might head down in the morning for a bit. Have to be at a party in the afternoon. Weather looks crappy this weekend. We've never gone to it even though our boat is around the corner at Warwick Cove. We've alwasy had some other thing going on.

Looking at the siet I see that Lite 105 FM and PRO am 630 are the supporters, I wouldn't think they would do the sumulcast.

Thanks, I'll give those stations a try.

If the weather cooperates, it can be a nice day, just as long as you stay away from the congested mobs of boats that all want to anchor on top of one another.

Thanks, Can you see anything form hope isalnd area, or is that too far away? Can you anchor nearby without being in the mob?

Hope Island area would be fine. They have a security zone set up and won't allow you to get to close to the airfield itself anyway. The fighter jets fly over a very large area, so you'll definetly get sonme good views of them. They also make some low passes and tight turns right over the boats. Very intense display of power. My wife kept ducking......

Well, I went to the air show, on both days. We had to leave around 2 on Saturday and missed the Red Arrows. We went back out Sunday afternoon and saw the combined arms demo adn the red arrows. We were by the car piers Saturday and by green marker 15 on SUnday. It was very impressive. We will make sure we get out there next year as well with more guests.

Never did find the simulcast channel

Thanks Scott. I used to watch the Quonset Air show every year when I lived in RI. When i lived there, it used to always be in mid-August, and they always had either the Navy Blue Angels or the Air Force Thunderbirds. I think the Blue Angels were A-4 Skyhawks back then. A few times at the show, tney had the Canadian "Snowbirds" perform before the finale with the US jets.

Watching by boat was great.
