Alright, there has been alot of talk of raft-ups so I figured we should have a thread dedicated to our past raft-ups.

Post your pic or write a story of some of your best raft-up moments...

sorry I forgot, Newbies must bring the guacomole also!

we have the Burbon

ok, I will bring beer. But since I have never officially joined a raft up, how does it work? Is there a protocol for what side to go to, is there one anchor, etc. Rules for where people swim (probably behind the boats, but don't know). I just want to know if you pull up to a raft up, obviously want to be careful to not hit anyone in water, so knowing how to approach is something to know before going in.

Any help is appreciated.

Jeff

Usually you call ahead of arriving and the least drunk ones will instruct which side and whom you will be rafting up to. Slow and easy is the golden rule. Swiming behind the boats so definately want to watch out. Croton is great cause there is a certain spot to anchor where there is a shelf. Boat is in deep water and a few feet off the stern you can stand in the sand, soak up the sun and enjoy a refreshment (that you will be providing ofcourse.) Depending the amount of boats, we will use two maybe three bow anchors and a few stern anchors to lock us into the beach...

Now wait a minute. No more of this beer and chips getting off easy deal. We want bubbah burgers and red wine!

What can I say? We were spoiled by the great company! I just wish we had a platform without the dang dink davit!
