If you are using SeaTalk ( or NMEA 0183?) interfacing , I believe you should be able to use the Autohelm version, Navdata:

I used to have one on my marlin tower console for GPS Nav repeating from the lower station, but I'm afraid it got tossed during a semi-recent upgrade to small Simrad GO7XSE that just barely fit up there.
