I received an email this morning with an announcement of a new line of boat cleaning products from - Raymarine! Why would a leading electronics firm go into cleaning/maintenance products? Is this conglomerate business at its finest, or did they just want to diversify due to the down turn in new boat sales? I wonder whose product line they repackaged!

I was a part of RayMarine's consumer testing of those products approximately 1 1/2 years ago. I found their cleaners and waxes to be excellent. The only thing I did not try was the rubbing compound. I don't know how they priced them, but I would not hesitate to purchase any of them.

knomad, how did you get selected to participate in the initial test program? Do you know someone high on the food chain at headquarters or was it "random selection?"

George,

How are you?

I joined the forum at your advise and already found something that I had been looking almost a year for.

Hope you are on the mend.

Getting real antsy for Spring!

A couple of years back RayMarine, through their website, was looking for volunteers to be on their "Consumer Advisory Board" and I was selected.
We viewed new product designs (on paper) and answered a number of surveys. We even got a tour of the US facility in NH.
The only products we actually got to test were the cleaning products.
I haven't heard from them in about a year, so I don't know if they still are doing this.
