I've had a Ray 5000 autopilot for 3 years now, and it works fine for trolling, but "snakes" at speed. Ray rep at the Chicago boat show said I needed a Rudder Reference Transducer to eliminate the problem.
I purchased one over the winter, and now I cannot figure anyway to install it! It requires a 60 degree swing (about 5" L&R from dead center) which I do NOT have (twin 4.3's). He also mentioned I might need to anchor it to the tie-bar between the twins--HOW? I'm at a total loss for ideas.
Long story short--anyone have this installed with twins that can give me any idea(s) and/or snap a pic of the install?
