Was keeping track of a 45 silverton on their website, boat was listed for 299000 then after awhile i believe 310000 then back to 299000 then 289000. Just checked again and was 349000 and posted as sold. Never saw a boat change asking price so much?

So used boat prices have started moving up in the Northeast Market?

I thought Redline moves stock so fast there wouldn't be enough time to change prices so much.

Some boats Dave, He still has that Carver their that I looked at last March. The Silverton 45C, is a real good boat (little bias there). The price of 289, 299, or even 310, is really a steal if the boat is in good condition. Just my 2c

Also,
Prior to Sandy, boats that are in this price range don't seem to move very quickly. I also think, when you get to the size of a boat like the 45C or 50C or 45 to 50 foot boats, there is a vast difference between models and manufacturers. Point being:
The 45C is really a 48 foot flybridge boat (LWL). For a 48 foot LWL boat, the salon is not hat of other 48' boats (smaller). This is do to the large galley, 3 staterooms and a huge cockpit. A MY that is smaller feels bigger, guess what I am trying to say here is once you get to a boat this size, your either going to hate things about it or love it. Me, I like the traditional lines, but with that like, space is lost. I like the large cockpit, but with that said, more salon room would be nicer. Also, because this boat is a convertible, the cockpit does not have the comfort features you would find in a searay (seating).

Just saying when you get to this size and you have the money to afford a boat this size, you become less likely to compromise and that drags out the buying process. Again, just my opinion and observation.

I agree 289000 was a great price that's why I was looking, but supprised when I saw it was sold for 349000 because it was a low price for a while.

So the boat sold for 60K more then the asking price before the storm sounds like a great place to buy a boat. Remind me next time I on the market for a new boat maybe it's just me but this guy sounds like a real piece of work!

Def. a number game. I quess he thinks people don't follow his prices posted on line.

So I paid too much for that boat? I thought that was a good price, and he told me there were others who really wanted it, but since I new a guy who purchased 4 other boats from him, he was giving me the first opportunity to purchase.

I have talked to him in the past, he expects you to bring check in hand before you see the boat.

Ha Ha , he is all of the above, seems to work for him. Not my style, but totally get his marketing, just saying :) Agree or disagree, he moves boats!!!
Don't take this post as I am defending his sales gig, just take it, it does work for him. Also, if you are the "faint at heart" or are easily offended, he will blow your mind and crush you. I am neither, and we got along real well after he saw I was not a tire kicker, nor could be bullied. He is way rough around the edges, but I don't find that as a fault.

So to recap, He likes to bully he enjoys intimidating to the point of crushing people. As I have said in the past I'll pass! I don't get intimidated easily in fact I laugh at people that try however I have little tolerance for A-holes and what you describe is a first class A-hole.
