Hello. new owner of 1999 Regal commodore and new to boating. I have a few problems that I hope someone can help me with. 1. water seems to gather in the area around the shower pump. I have checked the hoses and the casing and they look fine. The water seems to come in through a one inch pipe from the stern direction. where does this pipe go? 2. Whilst running fuel gauge seems to be jammed on half tank no matter how much fuel is on board. When ignition off gauge reads zero.

I've no idea where that pipe might lead to - cockpit scupper perhaps?

Re: The fuel gauge, sounds like the sending unit's float, or whatever is used inside the tank is either stuck, or "waterlogged" (saturated) with fuel, and will need to be removed and examined, and maybe replaced.

Just a hunch, but some builders are using short pieces of PVC through the limber holes.

Lomond, I have a 2001 2460. Same setup as you describe. As Ken mentioned, it is most likely limber hole. It provide a way for water to get to the area under the aft cabin/fuel tank and then eventually through another bulkhead between the aft cabin and the engine room. It allows water to drain all the way back to the engine room where the bilge pump is located. The problem is that the pvc pipe is about 1/2" above the actual bottom of the space so a small amount of water tends to stay there, once it gets there. If you have a lot of water in the bilge, when you make a quick stop, the water will travel forward from the engine room and aft cabin area, and then collect there. I use a towel to dry the area out on occasion.

Agree, but check the limber holes for plugs. Mine came from the factory with one rubber plug in each of 2 limber holes. Beats me why, but I removed them. Now, any water that gets forward and is not pumped out by the mid-ship pump will drain to the engine room bilge and get pumped from there.

Oddly, my Glastron GS-259 also has a plug in the limber hole by the shower sump.. Why do they do this?.. I removed it
