I just bought a 1994 Maxum SCR 2400. The boat itself isin great shape but the pin stripping is a mess. I tried a heat gun to remove it, but this is not working to good. any ideas on how best to remove this?

Thanks Ken

Google "3M Stripe Off Wheel". They're like an eraser that you use in a drill. I've used one with no issues.

Perhaps Boatfix carries this or a similar make.

I use a hair dryer. Don't get it too hot, just enough to get it to turn loose.

once you try the graphics eraser, you'll wonder what you ever did without it.

Just wanted to thank TSR and Gregory S for the great info on the 3M Stripe Off Wheel. It worked GREAT. I did in a couple of hours what would have taken days with a heat gun.
This is the only way to remove stripes.

You're welcome. Glad it worked out so well. Some people still insist on heat guns, razor blades and burnt fingers!

Is this recommended for wider striping? We have a one inch stripe and then lower down, a 3 color stripe band that's about 1.75 - 2" total width. This is on a 1987 Chap 198XL. Thanks!

I used the stripe off wheel for 2 1/2 inch stripes on my boat. Works great on any vinyl material.

I have used 3m adhesive remover and a plastic scrapper. Works great
