Hi,

Someone poked out a salon window on my 86 32 aft. The smaller front. I got out the screen from inside by lifting. But I can't seem to lift the window frame to remove it.

Any ideas. Thanks.

you won't get the frame out...the cabin top is supported by the frame. You're gonna have to have a window made and install it in place.

RamSport47, I tried to emil you from the site, I was looking at a 30 Aft that was docked at Cedar Point. Her name is "Cachette", do you know anything about her? My direct email is legochefrb2@gr5taol.com. Thanks!

That window slides, there is no weight on it. It seems like it should come out somehow.

Hi ChefJunk,

We dock at CP too, and are often out in the dink.. I don't recall seeing that boat name, but then again, if they stern in, we probably wouldn't have seen her. Best bet is that RamSport knows her.. he knows most any and all Carvers in the area. :)

That window shouldn't have been in a frame...should have just been a piece of plate glass sliding in the window frame unit.

ChefJunk...I don't recall seeing a 30 aft cabin at cedar point. What pier was it on?

Thanks.

It is partially framed. L shaped or one sided frame front, which has the plastic lock.

Does Carver have a help number?

Do any of those email addresses on the site work?

first you remove the rubber stoppers in the top track by sliding the window back and forth to get at them. Just pry out with a screw driver. Next see if there are any similar rubber on the bottom and remove them too. Now try lifting the window up into the top then out. If it is still too big by a smidge you use a scissor or bottle jack and wood blocks with minimum pressure to open the frame a smidge. If there is a removable vertical support un fasten that first to allow the frame to open.

Any glass shop can supply the proper size tempered smoke glass. Have it cut 1/16” smaller for easier fit.

I had to have a new glass panel made to replace a broken one on the fixed part of my sliding glass door on my Mariner - I called a local glass place, they came out, measured, made/cut the smoked glass, installed it, etc. It looks OEM.

Had the same issue and went with plexi, cut it to the right size and muscled it in......

Works great but took some doin'. Didn't take the frame out though......too scary....

3207 Aft.

No intention of taking out the frame.

I'll try Bruce's suggestion. Thanks.
