Removing wax from quilted table cloth?

Good friends gave my wife and I a very nice hand made quilted table runner. We used this table runner for a family dinner at our house when our brother in law accidentally knocked over a large candle which subsequently spilled melted candle wax on this quilted runner.
Anybody found a good way to remove melted wax without destroying the fabric?

I've heard of using ice and also putting paper towels under over and use an iron.
I bet if you google it you will find lots of advice

Gregory - Had to ask my wife who the heck Heloise was. Luckily she knew and I didn't have to google it.

Once you scrap off as much a you can; take a brown paper bag (single layer)& put over wax area. Then take a warm/hot iron over area. Let brown paper absorb wax. Repeat as needed !

What Bob J said does work, we had the same problem and this is exactly what we did, it just takes a bit of time.
