Replace Icemaker with???

I went through this with a Uline Combo. The only thing it did well was make ice. So I swapped in a NovaKool R4500 and we are NEVER going to look back. We don't need tons of ice because we don't fish. Even when we entertain we have two friges so that means about 8 trays of ice.
The frige with a small freezer in our case was a much better option. Especially when cruising because you can off load from the main icebox expanding your space for food etc..
The Nova Kool R3100 looks close fit wise but a little on the large size. I'd hunt around and look for a plug compatible reefer with an ice tray option. Skip over Norcold.

+ 1 to Hogan, that's what I am doing and my magnum grill fits perfectly in that space.

I replaced mine with a Dometic fridge. Good for beer, sodas, and bottled water. Keeps the riffraff out of the saloon.
Make no mistake...I love ice. Clean pure ice out of a bag or a home ice maker. Our cruising style now is 2-3 day trips to nearby destinations. We do not hook up to dock water because I don't want to walk off and forget to turn it off. So, all our ice is made from "tank" water. My wife won't use the ice, give the water to the dog, or brush her teeth with it. It is fresh because I top off the tank before each trip but I would rather my Sapphire martini has clean, pure ice. Later in the evening when no one is looking I have been know to use a cube or two in my drink.
The bottom line is that all the icemaker is used for is to keep the beer and soft drinks cold in the Coleman Extreme.
But, contrary as it may seem I am going to get it fixed. I'm 90 bucks in so another 300 bucks won't break the bank. I hate it when stuff does not work. Keeps me up at night.

I agree on having an icemaker. An equivalent fridge would not hold nearly enough beers, ice, etc. for our friends and us. If it's a larger group, we keep the galley fridge full for ourselves and close friends. For the rest, coolers are brought and hold much more and keep things much colder. I also got a Yeti cooler as a gift last year. It's the best!
