,m sure this has been asked before but: where can I find used window hatchs for my 1986 Carver Aft Cabin. I had a link for Don's Salvage in Tampa, but they must have gone under, as no longer available. Tried another from Google but got no response. Anyone know of a spot that works?

I tried 727-576-8577. Recording said he was on the other line, so I assume it is an operating number. When I bought my '86 3607 last October, some previous owner removed the opening ports and permanently sealed them with plexiglass. I thought that was a dumb move, but one of the guys at the yard where I had the survey and service work done, siad the original hatches were so leak prone that I have moved port replacement way down on my list. My thinking is that at the dock we will user the AC and anchored out the boat will be pointed into the wind and the forward hatch and rear hatch will provide a decent flow. I will probable replace them someday but will probably go with a better port even if it requires some cutting. It's never easy(or cheap). Good luck.

I've tried. People laughed. S.O.L.

Dons is open try a clearwater or pinellas park address.

Wish I could see the hatch. Is it a bomar type??

Mine were produced by a company called grey industries which I think was purchased by bomar. I don't remember the exact demensions but they were no longer available.

I had the same grey industries hatches on my Mariner-they are junk!! I replaced them with Taylor glass and powdercoated aluminum. They look great and are an exact replacement for the old ones. I got mine at WM's surplus outlet for cheap but I think they retail for around $225. George at Boatfix can get them as I was about to order them from him when I found them in the surplus outlet. And by the way, Don's Salvage is still open and the phone number given by Jimmy is the right number.

Thanks for all the responses. They simular to the one in link, but those don't look like you can see thru them. I will try Don's again.

You can buy them directly from the manufacturer/distrubutor.
I purchased 7 the year before last and they still leaked. Went back and purchased new gasket material and now I am completely watertight no matter what the weather.
If you need the link to the manufacturers site send a PM and I will forward.
Alternatively, if the moderator will allow, I will post online.

Don, Call or visit Wolf's Marine in Benton Harbor, MI. They have a ton of new & used marine parts. It's a boater's wonderland.

If you're talking about the port holes, they are still available from Bomar as part of their Gray Enterprises line. You should be able to order them at any Carver dealer. Just have the size ready as there are many different sizes. They are also available with tinted glass or clear, and white or black frames. E-mail me if you need more info.

And I don't know why your new ones leaked, but we've never had any problems with new ones
