Replacing batteries: connect/disconnect procedure?

My favorite is Boeshield T-9 for sealing the terminal connections and around the base of the battery posts.
 
Second for Boeshield. Goes on every electrical connection in my boat, including all over my 1986 Tower of Power. And my 3 batteries. 1 crank, 2 TM, are less than an inch from my aluminum gas tank. Negatives all come off first and go on last. I just don't need a lot of sparks around 18 gals of gasoline.

Googled Boeshield T9 and they make a lot of products, didn't see a battery specific item. I have never heard of it. Is it a spray or grease coating or ??
 
It's not a battery coating. It's a very good spray on corrosion preventer. Works primarily by sealing the area and it leaves sort of a greasy film that keeps corrosion away. Works pretty well.
 
Use AGM batteries and terminal coating is a moot point.

Good point. BUT . .AGM's are expensive and since most chargers don't allow mix and match between banks there's no way to ease into the purchase.
Three AGM's aren't always in the budget.
And hopefully my gasoline budget got a LOT better with prices much better than last year.
If you got the mean$ to do it I say go for it.
