Replacing the risers and elbows on FWC 1988 Crusader 454s w/ 1000 hrs. Boat is new to me, and runs cool at 150-155, also checked the risers/man/elbows with infrared heat gun and all came up even at 170-200, but figured would start "fresh" as a couple of the joints between the risrs and elbows were fairly rusty and two had leak trails (they were replaced last 1995.) The manifolds are original but are in very good condition, no leaks and just carbon inside. Will replace those this winter.

Using Osco parts, but Crusader OEM gaskets. I pulled the risers, cleaned the gasket surfaces and sandwiched the new stainless plate between the 3 hole gaskets then attached with new stainless nylock nuts. Then installed the gasket between the riser and elbow and bolted on. All done "dry". They are just hand tight now, but understand the correct torque is 25-30lbs?

Is the correct? Anything else to check/ be careful of? Thanks
