I have a good number of windows in my 1985 36 mariner. The windows and frames are in good shape.. What is not is the felt in the tracks that the windows slide back and forth on.. They are old mold and gunk filled and overall just gross. I have cleaned them as much as possible but the y really need to be replaced.

Anyone done this sort of thing ? How ?

Ditto but on my Sea Ray 300 1989 Dancer. Same on prior boats. Mine don't leak but they're so cracked I can't open the side windows. Anyone have an easy solution andor source for the track materials? Does it always require complete tear down?

Any Glass shop can get you the felt strips. Just measure the width of your current strip. Replacement without disassembling the windshield may require you to cut a trough accross the channel with a file so the old felt strip can slide out and a new one inserted. Spray the old felt with silicone spray. Clean the channel thoroughly before inserting the new felt strip.
