Hey all--

I need to replace the handheld shower hose and head on my transom. It has a simple screw-on fitting. Do you know if that is a universal fitting that one could buy at any home big box store? They're not marine specific are they?

Thanks in advance---

Paul

Buy one (or a few) and try them out... or take the old one into a few stores and see what matches up. You can also try to replace the exact part with something from boatfix catalog.

Yup, RV parts are the same as boat parts, but often 1/2 the price!

I had a hell of a time finding a hose for my transom shower. It is a standard shower connection on mine, but the original is 8 1/2' long and a 5' which is common in HD is too short. I finally just settled on a 6' hose from HD, but this is only temporary because it was shooting water all over my engine compartment. I am tempted to call SeaRay, but it's probably $150 bucks for the original hose.

I just got back from HD. I found a returned 7' that looked like just the ticket. It was a return so they knocked the price in half. Got home and realized that it's off by just a hair. Couldn't believe what a near miss it was.

EDIT: Just found it at BoatFix.

Thanks all,
Paul

I just had to replace the spray head on our transom shower and the big box stuff did not fit. Ended up at a marine supply and they had a replacement for $21. They also had a complete kit, hose and spray head that was around $100. I was glad I didn't have to try to get at the boat end of the hose to change it!
