I received this email:
"Dear Restore the Delta Supporter,
In December, a document known as the “Environmental Impact Report" will be released that will facilitate the construction of the tunnels-threatening the Delta's ecosystem, economy and California's drinking water quality. We ONLY have a 90-day window of time for a public response to the release of this document so we must take action now to stop any progress on these tunnels.
Can you commit to and join us in support on any of these dates?
These rallies are very important and we must show up in huge numbers to make a serious impact.
Here are the dates of the rallies:
December 9th in San Jose at the Santa Clara Water District Office from 8:00 to 9:30AM
Secretary John Laird of California Natural Resources will be making a presentation in favor of the BDCP/tunnels; our purpose will be to show the board that the BDCP is a bad idea financially.
December 13th at the Capitol (Sacramento) at 11:30AM.
On the 13th, the Governor's office will be holding a press conference in regards to the release of Environmental Impact Report. Our purpose is to be present in huge numbers to get the media's attention and show them the REAL story.
And a march in LA on December 17th at noon.
The march will be from the Los Angeles Department of Water Power to City Hall and will be in conjunction with other organizations from the area to protest the water rate increases that will result from the BDCP. It will start at noon on Dec. 17.
Please let us know if you can commit to any of these dates by replying to this e-mail or calling (209) 475-9550. *This event is a surprise; we are organizing an orderly and legal counter presence to the peripheral tunnels.*
Thank you so much!
