We were discussing props and the subject of rev-limiters was mentioned. Does anyone know if there is a factory rev-limiter on the Mercruisers?
The boat is a 2004 Searay 22' Sundeck, 300 HP 350 Magnum motor. How would we know if we hit the revlimiter if there is one? I thought it would seem like cutting out at WOT. Currently WOT is about 5000 rpm and runs smooth. I guess we could find out by dropping the prop to 15 or 13" pitch from the current 17" - and if it goes beyond 5000 then it wouldnt seem to have a rev-limiter.
