RIP: Rich Marshall, Bethel Island, CA

A friend just advised me that Rich Marshall, former Commodore of SJYC, past Chairman of Meals on Wheels annual fundraiser and owner of E G Marshall's Bistro on Bethel Island died suddenly yesterday. Apparently he had a horrible headache and died at the hospital while seeking treatment.

A kinder man I have not known. My heart goes out to his wife, Gerry, and his family. I will post more details when they become available.

Additional Information. I had forgotten to mention he was Past President fo the BI Chamber of Commerce. They sent out this announcement:

"Dear Community:

The Bethel Island Chamber of Commerce extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and many others of Rich Marshall, a leader and icon of our community for many years, who passed suddenly on Saturday July 24th

While Rich touched all of us, his presence will be missed even more by those he shared his personal life with, as well as his professional life.

There will be two services held ... Thur, Aug 12 - a formal church service in San Bruno and Fri, Aug 13 - A Celebration of Life on Bethel Island. Details can be found soon in Contra Costa Times and other papers, and in an upcoming email.

In lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Rich's favorite charity:
