I was introduced at a dinner party to a gentleman that is the top administrator
at Robert Moses.
He stated that they are planning on having
Robert Moses marina electric available by spring.
They are going to use the same pricing and reservation system as Watch Hill and Sailors Haven.

Well there goes another secret spot!! ;(

Robert Moses stinks, no dogs, lousy docks, bugs, fat women. dirty beach, expensive concession, nasty cops and
I hear the new electric will only be 5 volts!
I wouldn't go if I was you!!

It's for BE members only. The word should not travel beyond these members.

I agree it's horrible. Always full and the waiting list procedure is very confusing.

I don't know, I think you guys have it backwards, you should be encouraging people to go there to free up slips at the nicer places (away from cars) further east! :)

If they are putting in electric does that mean they are allowing overnight stays or is it still a day spot?

Not many slips for wide beam boats. I think there is only two slips I fit in :(

Well thats the thing . Why does everything the town or state do have to be HALF ASS ?

Pissing money away appears to be there best asset!

...........and raising taxes too

Rob,
If you had an endless supply of money, would you not piss it all away? You actually could not piss it all away because it is an "endless supply". And that is the problem! The towns, the counties, the state, do have an endless supply of money, that supply is us, the taxpayer. Until that day changes and they need to run like a real company, nothing will change!

They are planning for overnights.
That's why they're going to copy Watch Hill and Sailors Haven's
system of reservation and fee schedule

I wonder if they are going to do the same with the Jones Beach Boat Basin.
They could use something with electric and overnight capabilities down at that end.

The Captree Boat Basin is a pretty nice place. I like the short walk to the ocean, the little concession stands, and the view from the boat basin.

Good to hear they will have overnights, nice to have another option.

Walter, I thought there were a decent amount of wide slips there? Although maybe I'm thinking of before the did the work...

There are lots of wide slips, issue Walter had is when we went there alot of small boats go into wide slips because its just easier and noone is there saying where you have to go.

So the wide slips are taken by idiots with smaller beams.

Be nice to map out the beams and maybe if they have a reseveration system they will do that and assign slips instead of first come first serve.

Walt,
ur 100 % right . Look at cedar beach marina. Place is empty in the spring . NO non residents no matter what .... Place operated at a loss before they made the new rules. NOW im sure they are drowning in it ... but like u said endless supply of tax payer money.

Same with RV campgrounds. We arrived at Denali National Park with a long-box pickup towing a 36-ft fifth wheel and found tents on the long sites. Ended up with the axles backed over the timbers setting the back end of site. Too bad that doesn't work between pilings.
Again, nobody managing.
