I would say that just the fact the meters run off any key switch and not directly off the motor completely negates any usefulness other than for a service reminder... in fact I would be very wary now of any boat I look at where the two meters are reading the same amount of hours!!... hmm, the owner turned the keys simultaneously EVERY startup... impressive. G

I agree. During the lifespan of a boat there are always situations where one engine is run more or less than the other, but not hundreds of hours.
