Routine Alternator Maintenance

I have a 110 amp alternator with over 700 hours of service. It is working fine but I was wondering if there is some preventative maintenance that should be done.

Never have seen them needing replacement.

The diode trio and regulator is about the only other things that may need replacing

700 hours about the equivalent of 2 years in a car. You wouldn't be thinking about doing anything with a two year old car would you?

The only thing you could check is to make sure the belts are tensioned properly (not too tight) which can cause bearing wear.

Even on aircraft we don't look at them for 1800 to 2000 hours.

While we are here on this subject, you need to understand the "Waddington Effect". By doing un-necessary preventive maintenance you are actually decreasing reliability, not increasing it.
