Running engine while on the hard.

I am fixing to tune my engine and need to run it while the boat is out of the water.I have a raw water cooled AQ260 with the fresh water washout.If I hook up a hose to the fresh water washout will that be a good enough water supply? It's probably a stupid question but I'm a newbie and this is my first boat.Thanks
