I have a 2001 Rinker Captiva with a 454 MPI 385 hp. I have owned the boat since new. The boat runs great until I get to the last 1/4 extension of the throttle and the rpm's get close 4800 then the engine will bog down. I have been told that it's the rev limiter stopping the engine from over reving. My question is why would something like that just start happening? I could max out the throttle in the past and it would not do that.
Thanks for any input.
