http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=159708 Wish I would have been following this story. Would have gone out to see it in the bay. Just happened to be in SF yesterday and caught it after it docked

Nice.

My son spent yesterday playing tourist in S.F. and was at Pier 39 and was wondering what all the excitement and crowded docks were about.

Now I can tell him.

[:-thumbu]

It was a beautiful day. We were walking along and saw all the people on the dock. I had to ask what was up myself.
We walked form Pier 39 to the Ferry Building. Good progress on the Cruise Terminal that will be used for the America's Cup. Still have some wotrk to do though. Sting is doing the first concert there in June

I'm glad you had a nice time.

Yeah, my son said it was an awesome day in the City. They went to the Presidio, Fort Point, Coit Tower and the Wharf. They ate at Bubba Gumps and had dessert at Ghirardelli's (I started him on that tradition many years ago!).

Did you see the Bush-Man? My son didn't. It's a rare day that he isn't working the tourists! [:-jester]

Unfortunately, I was land-locked yesterday and today with (not so fun) family obligations. [:-banghead]

But there is always tomorrow! [:-mischievous]

Haven't seen the bush man in years. I think he hangs around Fisherman's Wharf.
There were tons of people along the Embarcadero.

I bet it was packed! It's tough to beat a beautiful day along the waterfront.

The last time that we saw him was last summer when we took the boat down for a two night stay at Pier 39. We have usually seen him doing his business along the area where the commercial fishing and tourist boats are sterned into the sidewalk area.

Here's a clip of him in action:

Too funny!

"where the commercial fishing and tourist boats are sterned into the sidewalk area."
