Boating just hasn't been the same for me after Sandy. My pride and joy never got totally repaired and I lost interest.
I'm trying to rekindle interest now but the weather will soon be working against me. I spent the last 2 days building a new Starboard lower helm panel which houses new AC & DC fuse panels They are a 2nd 30A AC breaker panel, an 8 circuit DC panel, a small 3 circuit DC panel for my navigation lights. I also reinforced my double 8D battery box to accept the (4) Unigy1 105AH AGM's, I built all the interconnecting 2/0 cables, installed my Tri-Star TS45 solar controller and it's remote display, mounted the NAVICO AIS Class B transponder and the secondary Garmin VHF200 radio on this new control panel. In addition I mounted the ProMariner 2000 watt inverter/ 70 amp DC charger's remote. I'm now building the low current DC side as well as the main portion of the NMEA2000 network. The panel also has a 600 amp 4 position battery switch, a 600 amp negative buss bar and a really cool custom built (from E-Bay) bilge pump(s) control panel with a daily/ weekly and monthly counter.
I already installed my Edson mounts on the Garmin Radar and the KVH M3. Once I get them to the boat I'll cut the 3" heavy duty masts to size and install starboard under the bases so I won't damage my decks.
I've done other stuff but at this point I have been at it since 4AM this morning and I'm running out of steam!
