Is sanitation hose rated for an inlet application below water line in a seawater suction line??? I need to replace an improper generator raw water inlet hose section that needs to make a 180 degree bend in little space. The sanitation hose is more capable of small radius bends than the usual wire reinforced exhaust rated hose.

I don't know if it's rated or not but that's what I'm using for the head inlet: 3/4" ID Shields white from Ace Hardware.

I was using clear reinforced vinyl hose at one time for this purpose but didn't like the way it looked after algae started growing in it.

For an engine cooling inlet I'm using reinforced radiator hose which is available in shaped lengths.

I don't see any problem in using it. It won't collapse under suction and most of it is rated for 50+ PSI working pressure.

My gennie has a section of shaped hose however there is no spring to stop it from collapsing under suction. I'm not sure that common radiator hose should be used in seawater though it has held up OK but the installer used the wrong hose in a suction application. You can watch it collapse as the pump pulls water.
I could use that ribbed radiator hose but prefer something smooth inside for better flow.

You may need a marine hose with helical wire reinforcement. You are right about the sea water rating: I'm boating in fresh water.

Sanitation hose can make sharper bends than that wire reinforced hose. That’s why I would prefer to use it.
I suspect, but don’t know, that it is used for inlet plumbing on below the water line raw water head systems.
Curiously I cant find any reference to a specification for seawater engine inlet hose. Plenty of exhaust and pressure hose specs but nothing for inlet suction applications.

Sanitation hose has a helical plastic reinforcement, and won't collapse under suction.

I installed the hose it and it works great. No sign of collapse and much easier to bend than wire wound hose. Much better water flow than that incorrect automotive type hose some idiot installed.
