SEA ERA

Billy, my records indicate that you paid $929.00 (plus shipping) for the head. Yours is in bone, and flushes with pressure water.

Right after the first of the year, our auditors discovered that on the raw water flushing heads with the remotely mounted pump, we'd made a mistake on our pricing and we weren't making anything on the raw water units. So the pricing was adjusted upward on the raw water units only. The current factory retail price is $1160.00 for white, and $1190.00 for bone. These are the top-of-the line units with the 4 button Smart Switch control. On factory retail pricing, the 3 button manual switch system is $200.00 less, and the single push button manual version is $300.00 less than the 4 button Smart Switch version. The pressurized fresh water units remained the same price as was originally set.

I strongly recommend the Smart Switch control, not because it's more expensive and I want to spend your money; but because it is a lot more flexible. You can program it to your particular needs, and it will flush that way every time you use it. If your needs change, it can be re-programmed to meet the changed needs. The Smart Switch (4 button version) has three short flush bursts, rather than a single continuous one. This enables it to flush thoroughly while using a very small amount of water. With it doing it 3 times instead of just once, it gives any entrapped air time to work its way out, and dramatically improves the efficiency of the head.

The other two switch methods are manual - you must press and hold the button in, for it to do anything. And it runs a continuous cycle, air and all, while you're holding the button in; no three burst flush...

Guys, as far as height goes, the Marine Elegance isn't as tall as some other toilets available. But if you build a little box frame of 2 X 3's and cover it with a piece of 3/4" plywood, then mount the toilet on top of that, the seating height will be at the same level as a conventional household toilet. That will raise it up between 3 and 3 1/2 inches. Raritan is eventually going to come out with a conventional height unit, but I don't know yet when that will be.

You can get fancy with it, using Star Board or teak covered plywood if you choose, and put a nice piece of molding on the front edge. Plus, it will give you a spot to hide the wiring, etc. inside the box.

In addition I also have the 4 buttom smart controller Vic. Thanks for the discount, thats what happens when you purchase early. I saw the ad in my ABYC magazine and after contacting you knew this head would and did solve all my problems. Bill

Vic--

I have two heads on our boat. We are now entering August, near the end of our bboating season (I still wonder where time went and the weather $ u c k s) so maybe I will hold off until spring. By that time either Raritan will have something that I want to purchase in the Elegance line or I can reconsider the SeaEra again.

I am not going to fabricate anything to install a head. Either it fits or I will purchase something that does.
