CAn anyone out there in Sea Land tell me if there is a website that would tell the number of units produced by Sea Ray for a particular model and year. I am researching information on the 420 Aft Cabin model.
Thanks....

Well, with 239 readers and no responders it must mean Sea Ray does not offer this information. Thanks anyhow....

eMail Sea Ray on their website - they are extremely helpful and may give you this information.

Thanks guys,
I did that and got a rapid response but very vague. They stated production ranged from 34 per year to a max of 74 in 1997. Also stated they were all balsa construction in the hull bottom, sides, and deck.

I have a 97 370AC and talking to Searay they were able to tell me it was hull number 6. In fact the guy I talked to (an older guy) filled me on on the whole building process, talked to him for an hour! That is part of what makes Searay a great builder. I was more concerned with the hull number than actually production numbers. Early hulls are usally better.

BTW, it's for sale :)

Would you happen to know the name of the man you talked with. I would love to discuss the hull building process and learn more before we buy a used 420. Any problems with the cored hull on your 370? I really like this model but have heard a lot of horror stories about the hulls leaking.
Thanks,,,

No I don't remember, it was when I was looking to buy. Just call 1-800-SRBOATS. They have supplied with all kinds of information. What you need to do is get to the plant that makes that boat, the above number should get you there.

Scott, no idea what you meant by your comment? However, to answer your question, molds do not last forever because of this early production boats are always better. :)
