Sea Tow rescues boater

I'll bet he was shaken, he's lucky to be alive. I'm not understanding the size of the sailboat?
It sounds like a really small one man type. Who would go out without wearing at least a drysuit in these water temps?

Bill, He had a dry suit and a PFD, this is why he is alive. Very lucky guy.

"I didn't check my floatation in the bow compartment. Water came in and flooded the front end," he said. Lipkin, who was wearing not only a dry suit but also a life jacket, said he had been in the water for about an hour before Andrews arrived.

The same guy saved two people in one week. He works for Haverstraw Marina and also work for sea tow.

Tim has come to my rescue a couple of times, once on my jet ski after hurricane Irene and once last year on my dink the day and reason I bought a new motor last year. Tim is a good guy we are lucky to have him around!

I'm telling you in Little Egg both SeaTow and US Boats are awesome. They arrive and report almost every accident and assist before the USCG or New Jersey State Police marine units even answers their radio telling the person reporting the emergency to move to channel 22. Which about 50% of the time doesn't work because many people have their VHF radios in international mode resulting in them not hearing the USCG when they switch to 22.
Good news he was properly prepared by having a dry suit and PFD on. Do you know if he had the hood, gloves and socks on in the dry suit? Many people don't wear the head piece and the body losses a tremendous amount of heat from your head.

I try not to get myself in a position like that, so far so good, but thank God for people like him. You need to THINK people.
