SeaBubbles Hydrofoil

$200k and practically useless for anything but taxi or commuting. No thanks.

But... but.. the Manatees!

Should be entertaining watching one hit a shoal. ( I know. tacky and crude comment. But... )

Give Mike H and I a shot at it, we could destroy it in about 15 minutes !

It solves the nr 1 problem of water taxi: wakes and rough ride

.....”But the company claims the versions going into production have 2.5 hours autonomy and a 35 minute recharge. These are the ones they expect to ship this summer to the first purchasers.“

Therein lies the problem. Batteries just can’t do what people can dream up. The company is promising faster more powerful boats and better battery performance, the holy grail of battery development.

I don’t know of hydrofoil boats in commercial service although I know of previous trials.

It could be a nice toy.

Larger ferries have used hydrofoil for years but the technology is exploding in part thanks to the America Cup. All sort of sailboats are now foiling from beach cats to monohull. Even boards with electric motor built into the foil
