I don't no how much detail I provided here before, but last year my Dad and I launched into a full restoration of a 3807 that had not been run in at least 5 years. Today was sea trial number two. Small water drips on starboard intake gasket, port exhaust and port water pump. I consider that a success! We're whittling down the issues one at a time.

Glad to hear things are going well, post some picture so we can see the project.

Hope it goes well. We bought our 3207 last year and love it, but I sure wish we had bought a 3807 instead. Great boats. Good luck.

Hey Slash71, we sold our 3807 a year ago. I had that boat apart from one end to the other so if you have any questions feel free to shoot me a email. seanut at charter dot net. I have quite a few photos as well. I was one of Carvers designs back in the day when the 3807 was built.

What motors? Year etc.

Check oil level for water contamination leaking water on intake may also leak internally. In otherwords, water may be leaking directly into the engine. It's a critical seal on the ends of the intake at the heads.

What water pump? circulation or raw water.

and where on the exhaust?

JTYBT15,

It's a 1989 3807 with Mercruisers. One leak is at the circulating pump, which is no big deal as we had already replaced the pump on the starboard engine and bought two pumps to have a spare.

The exhaust leak looks like it's coming from around a hose clamp, so no big deal there.

I take your point on the gasket. Prior to the last sea trial, we discovered gas in the dipstick, and realized that the diaphragm was bad on one of the fuel pumps. We'll be replacing the intake gasket just to be safe.

Still, after the fuel pump issue, I think this sea trial was a great improvement.
