I have used the Dickinson Sea-B-Q Large Propane Barbeque when travelling with our boat for about 15 years. Changed the burner in it a couple times over those years but I am looking to replace it with new.

I would like a quality marine propane grill and wondered if anyone would have any recommendations for a replacement grill? I will be considering a Dickinson again along with any other recommendations.

Thanks,
Mike.

Pretty much everyone I know has a Magma grill. I'm on my second one and would buy another. They make many models different shapes, sizes and features.

Save your money and get a weber baby Q. Best boat grill we've ever had.

What rommer said. The BabyQ is a great grill, I much prefer it over my old Magma kettle.

While the Baby Q is awesome, you do need some real estate to store it.

I use the electric model and it works great, no propane bottle to deal with.

+ 2 LOVE mine...

Based on the last "round" of comments on this forum, after 11 years, I gave up on my old Magma and went with a Baby Q.

I mounted it on a piece of black starboard, and attached a Magma swivel lock bracket to the starboard.

It pops right into the rod holder, just like the Magma did.

ABSOLUTE BEST DAMN GRILL EVER ON MY BOAT !

I used to buy Magma grills, but after them only lasting a couple of years, cooking unevenly and not having much much grill space, I bought a NexGrill at Lowes for $99, and built a table for it. I'm going on 3 years, it works great and when it does crap out, I'm ahead of the game.

+1 for the Weber baby Q Electric.

I ditched the propane years ago.
Too dangerous to store propane and if you have a genny you always have juice!
I keep it in a large rubbermaid container so no grease goes anywhere.
You also can use it on the dock in most marina's as there is no open flame!

I am going against the grain here it seems, but my Magma looks great (never leaves the boat) and works great. Electric lighter stopped working, but I believe that was my fault for gorging the thing with water while cleaning. I have been using it steadily since '08.

Agree with Dave,
He turned me on to electric a few years back.

Other than this unit is great, and the safety benefit and convenience (no propane tanks). You can cook steaks better and more evenly on electric. Very little flair ups like gas, my best steaks have been cooked on this grill!

Charcoal gives more to the taste, and if not for the pain in a$$ to do that, this would be my first recommendation. And it is always cool to roast marshmallows with charcoal grills.

Hands down, electric is the way to go!!

I would rather have propane without the genny running. Just never been a fan of swimming, grilling, with the genny running, unless absolutely needed.

We cook on the electric at my dock, they don't allow propane grills at the marina, another plus.

Also the genset is usually running for the microwave when we are preparing meals.
