"ALAMEDA (KRON)--The Coast Guard has called off its search and a woman has been arrested following a boat crash early Friday morning.
Authorities say a woman was found clinging to the boat that crashed near Ballena Isle Marina just before 2 a.m. According to authorities, the woman told investigators that another person was on the boat at the time of the crash. After searching for several hours for the possible missing person, authorities learned that the woman made up the entire story.
Authorities believe the woman stole the boat and was out on a joy ride when she crashed the boat. She was taken into custody on suspicion of being intoxicated.
