I was out on the River south of there yesterday and there's a fair amount of tree debris which tends to be more prevalent after the amount heavy rain we've had lately. It's nothing to worry about if you keep a diligent watch but a few moments of not paying attention can quickly ruin your day with some of the logs that are out there bobbing up and down. If you've never traveled that far up the Hudson, the navigation is straight forward and "easy" but do pay attention to your charts and the channel, particularly as you approach Esopus Light south of Kingston. It's at a curve in the river where the channel bends to the east and many an inexperienced boater have followed their line of site rather than the channel. Taking the light on the wrong side will also quickly ruin your day (keep it to port heading north). Other than that, watch out for Brian, the marina's owner, trying to ply you with "little beers." It's a great spot and a beautiful trip - enjoy!
