I just purchased a larger boat and would like to take a mid-week trip through the locks. I would like to find out the bridge heights and water depth. I draw 4'6" and need 21' of clearance. I believe the railroad bridge might be close.

Here's the number 631-852-8299 for the canal operator. I won't be back till the weekend. Enjoy the trip.

I am in the Shinnecock Canal Marina until Friday as part of my vacation trip. A lot of large boats come and go though the locks. A friend has fishing rigs that has to be brought down. But as Perry said call the lock and they should be able to help. Have fun, it is nice on this side.

Bridges are 25', 22' and 23' heading North.
May want to make sure you go through at low tide!

I sure hope your not gonna attempt moriches bay with that draft!

We draw 4' and also need 21' of clearance- we had no issues with the bridges

Not trying to bring up a dead horse, but you went through at low tide. I do recall you cleared with plenty of room, though it looked tight. I definately would not do it a very high tide!

Brad,
Had I known you were out I would have left you my snapper rod and bait pen...now I have to fill it myself. Will be out late this afternoon.
seems like you chose a nice week...
