Shower Drain

I need to replace the hose on the shower drain going to the sump pump. How do you get access to the drain in the shower?

I have 87 sd340. On it the shower drain is under the shower pan and to access it, you have to remove a wood panel under the door to the head. Carpet covers it and the screws holding the panel in place are full of carpet glue. Once the panel is removed then you stand on your head or ry to lie on your side but there's no room, to try to see under the shower pan and try to get the hose clamp off with a looooong screw driver.
