I am going to have to replace my shower sump box as the bilge pump model is defective and no longer made. The thin wall drain hoses have been clamped to the shower sump box for seven years. After removing the hose clamps, I am having difficulty removing the thin wall plastic drain hoses. Is there a trick to removing these hoses without damaging them? I am considering rubber gloves and trying to twist the hoses.

If they are not in the engine room, try a heat gun. It will make them softer and
easier to remove.

When I removed my water heater the hoses were pretty much fused on. so, I simply used a hair dryer and that softened then enough for easy removal.
