I am thinking about putting a boat in a slip up somewhere on the old swamp next year. In looking at total costs I was wondering what some of you are paying for monthly slip fees. I know it is generally by the foot but I would be interested in seeing what highs would be and lows. You don't have to say where you are but I am wondering how big the differences are in what folks pay.

TP is where I hang my hat and for a covered slip for a 30 footer the cost is $247. Then they tack on incidentals like electricity and trailer storage etc.... They bill directly through the credit/debit card company. The only draw back that I have is they draw the funds late in the month, around the 20th. I get paid only once a month so I have to make sure that I have enough to cover it in the account. Its a nice place though. Friendly people and the KOA store does have a decent variety of stuff. Plus they do have pretty darn good coffee.
 
I'm in a small marina on Piper Slu, Bethel Island. It is located between Sugar Barge and Rusty Porthole. All of the slips are 30 ft and rent is $195. That includes electricity, water and dock storage closet. Nice and clean, very very quiet. Owner lives on premises and maintains excellent security. No extras such as fuel, store, trailer storage, etc. but those things are nearby at Russo's Marina without all the traffic and noise.

Clean shower and bathrooms on premises.

Oxbow, we've got a 28 and keep it plugged in all the time, run the hot water and electric heaters when we are there and it's cold. Our bills average about 226 a month. Thats for a covered berth, no charge for water they have a free breakfast dealon weekends for berthers between February and November and we all have use of the pool, BBQ and have a generally nice facility. The restrooms and showers are clean even on busy weekends and we like it because its off the beaten trail so anyone that looks out of place gets the eye!

Santa Cruz is over the top with $12 a foot, $100 per person per month live aboard fee. $30 a month additional for the power. These are open slips that have quite a bit of surge running through them.

Anyone with a trailerable boat has pulled out leaving many of the 30' and less slips available.

The average slip in Sausalito is a flat $15.00 a foot per month plus electricity and down in Newport Beach slips go for well over $20.00 per foot a month.
Is that sea robbery or what?
 
What to do ??? Ya wana play your guna PAY! Unless you have enough to buy your own marina or home with a dock!
 
Thanks all. It seems like only a couple years ago you could not find a slip in the Santa Cruz Harbor, there was a waiting list. In the summer I hang my boat off a can in the Capitola Harbor for about 240.00 a month I believe. No electricity of course but very nice folks. From what I learned here, I think the delta has inexpensive slip fees. Water side accomodations for a couple hundred a month....can't beat it.

I'm also at Oxbow and pay $185/mo. for a 24' covered berth. They give you the option on the 24' and 18' berths, if you pay off a year at a time, you can save money. Not sure if they do that with the larger berths. I've looked around - the delta seems to be about the cheapest place anywhere to berth a boat.
 
We berth our boat at Willow Berm which is probably one of the best kept up marinas in the Delta, but also one of the most expensive. They have free continental breakfast with champagne, fruit juice or coffee on the weekends, a workout room with TV's for each piece of equipment and a clubhouse with bidscreen Tv and a full kitchen for berther's use. We also have the finest bathrooms anywhere in the Delta (smile) and are walking distance to restaurants at The Lighthouse, The Riverboat and the Shoals Cafe.

I pay $660.00 for a 50 foot covered slip plus electrical.
 
I pay 171 per month to keep my 28 foot beauty in Martinez.

Wood docks, no fuel docks but it has beautiful scenery and a great park right next to the marina. If you go left you have easy access to San Pablo Bay and SF Bay. To your right, you're close to the delta and Suisun Bay.
 
I'm next door to Absoloot in Riverboat Marina. I pay $400 for a 40 ft slip. We don't have the finest bathrooms on the delta, but it's a short walk to use Absoloot's fine free facilities! We have a great restaurant and bar/night life. We have great folks, protected waters, good security, covered slips and Delta Boat Works (same company as the marina). We also have tall roofs on the 40 ft slips which accomodate some of the taller 30-40 footers.

Wish we had a pumpout station, but I go to Willowberm for that, too. (also free!!) Thanks, Dave!
 
My berth fees are FREE, the bathrooms are as clean as my wife can get them, dinners every night, breakfast on weekends, night life "well sometimes" bar is not bad, lots of parking, can find good waters North, South, East or West of me.
(Boat is on the trailer in my back yard.)
