My slip is protected and I have 1 1/2 - 2' on each side when backing. Usually hit it spot on first try.
When I visit a neighboring marina to visit a friend I take his neighbors slip. I have maybe 3' on each side. It scares the **** out of me, and I seldom back in gracefully, The aluminum supports for the roof have vinyl covers to protect the boat. They are 2-3' higher then my rubrail since it apparently was made for a taller boat.
I can't take my eyes off of those bare aluminum braces and supports that are in line with my swim deck.
It's all in my mind. I always have ppl on the dock stand by.
