Can it be done, or do I need to go out to the ocean and come back in either Moriches or Shinnicock

some info on your boat would help you get answers.

Yes it can be done. I just did it in my 48. Plenty of water.

Bridge height there is high at low, around 17'
Other bridges are lower.

Your length and beam don't matter at a bridge, height does.

Know your bridge height!

what does height matter if the bridges open ….

Because some boats can make it under Smith Point Bridge without opening.
The operator gets annoyed if you ask for a opening and you don't need it and rightly so, most people with express boats don't need it but they think they do!

As a follow up question to this topic, I'm at 4.5' draft GB42. Any concerns with this route for me? Also, do I need to schedule a 1 day notice for any of those draw bridges or is it a 30 minute notice?

All bridges open on demand.
Channel 13
4.5' should be fine but I would hit Moriches at high tide.
Check Moriches CG station and hit at high tide.
Moriches is fine but quogue canal gets a little low.
Lowest I have ever seen is 5' at high tide.
Stay in middle of all channels.

Am I reading West Bay Bridge vertical clearance is 10feet. Is this correct or typo error? Reading are in Active Captain/Aqua Map as well as Avionics

All bridges open on demand, so I don’t need to lower my canvas which is 17’
