Snake river tank monitor

I installed a snake river accugauge II several years ago and have had poor luck with accuracy, my tanks are fiberglass and quite flat in shape, holding about 14 inches deep and water only about 10 inches so my foil patchs are wider rather then longer but I did make the min square area. any suggestions?
