So Depressing

Boy has this spun out of control.

Billy, thanks for offer. I won't pull the BW for a few more weeks (too much fun) but then it will fully assess the situation and make a decision on how far to go. At this point I am thinking of just making this more of a refurbish rather than a full resto but who knows.

Dave, Your right. Everyone uses their boats differently and as long as they are happy then that's their decision. Also, I highly recommend getting the small boat...it's tons of fun to have the option. I even went the whole nine-yards and bought a highly customized "might tow" (http://www.ropeinc.com/towline.html) so that I can pull the whaler behind whatever boat I have next year.

LOL I miss that boat.

We've hardly used the boat this season. Sold the house and bought a condo so the move occupied a great deal of time. Then right after closing we went on a 2+ week cruise for our anniversary. Now furniture deliveries, small projects, etc are starting to eat up time. Next weekend at Watch Hill will likely be our only weekend away on the boat this fall. Hopefully a few fishing days here and there before putting it away. Thankfully, I am under no time constraint for getting it out of the marina so I will stretch to Thanksgiving.

Hy - congrats on beating the beast. It runs strong in my family so I can appreciate that success.

Dave, you are exactly correct. On the weekends when the Admiral and I weren't away or at Atlantique, we slept at the boat in the marina. Each of those weekends we would kayak to a new area or down a different canal. Friday night was Happy Hour at the dock. Other nights we would hop over to a nearby restaurant for drinks or dinner or catch some live music. When it wasn't moving, the boat was our summer home on the shore.

I enjoy the use of my boat while running it, on the hook, or at the dock.
I don't get to do many overnights because of my kid's (15 y/o daughter & 12 y/o son) schedules, they are involved in lots of things, but I do get to spend quality time on it.
Afternoons in Hemlock or Zack's with the kids and their friends swimming, going out to dinner with friends or family by boat and coming back at sunset, dropping the hook in the evening and having a "take out" dinner on the boat, or hanging at the dock for dinner and a cocktail or two with friends.
It's all good times.
BTW: I finally got to check out the Lighthouse a week or so ago. Was lucky enough to pull in and get a slip.
Appetizers were excellent, and the dinners were good. Mine was a little too salty for my taste, but I sampled my wifes dinner and it was great.
 
I should have bought Marks Viking. I was drooling over that boat. The timing just wasnt right...
 
Its trully all over now... Just pulled her out for the winter this past sunday... :(

Another geat summer in the books.....
 
Still in, but going to Vermont this weekend. Feels like the season is over...
 
They were blowing snow at killington, vt. last week. But, i am still in and plan on going out this week and weekend. My friends and family say I am in denial! I am ok wit that.
 
Still in, Atlantique again this weekend if weather decent
 
If anybody is still in come Thanksgiving you would be shocked at how many boats make it to Atlantique the friday after.
 
I'm still in for another month or so. Dave, not sure yet what I'm doing this weekend but may join you at Atlantique if the weather looks good.

I think watch hill is closed, so assuming electric is on at Atlantique, it is a better place to be. Not so rocky since ferries don't come in.

I should be there this weekend.
 
I heard about that....so crazy to be making snow already. We may take the convertible up this weekend, but seems like it'll be really cold. If we do catch a nice weekend I'd love to get a 'last hurrah' in, but we shall see. Maybe in a different boat we'd use it more into late fall or early spring, but probably coming out in a week or two...
 
I gotta give admiral heat. So if I have no electric I need to run genny. Watch hill offers nothing over atlantique.
Looks like weekend will be nice.
