We moved to Bowline but even there we had nasty wind and lots of wave action. Should have went to south Croton or even stayed at the north side. At least there you don't have to wonder if the anchors will hold. Always have that crummy thought in the back of your mind that the bottom will spit up your anchor in Bowline. (Luckily not this time although the stern was a bitch.)
Yup, we both faced the wind and won, this time. Did all the right things in terms of scope, multiple anchors, etc, but as you know Bowline can be a tough place to hold.
Hey, it's not like we were having a picnic at the marina ---- oh, actually, we were: clams, shrimp, mussels, king crab, pasta, burgers, margaritas, wine, beer, cigars...
Got all electronics installed, the socket for aft table replaced, genny and a/c up and running, both engines checked out and started, and the fresh water system cleaned up.
Not bad for an old man. It's amazing what you can do in a day when you don't take time to socialize.
Good grief Butch, I hope you call "posting at 4:37AM" getting ready to go fishing! Just hope you are not up early from back pain...beautiful days we are having...G
Hey Dan, how clean is the river starting to look up your way? We are coming up Sunday around 2, so at least I will have daylight in my favor. Went out for a test drive on a 34 Four Winns today and saw a telephone pole along with various other pieces of wood. How come you guys around Stony Point never complain about the crap in the river?
