I will be transporting a 29 ft. Searay from Solomon Island to Northeast MD either tomorrow or Sunday.
Looking for any navigation issues that I should be aware of and also weather is calling for 10 to 15 out of the southwest gust up to 20 ?
Thanks not familiar with Chesapeake.

With those winds its going to be an uncomfortable ride, particularly if the wind is running against the tide. Also, central PA is experiencing severe storms today which will drive lots of floatsom into the Susky and, eventually, into the Bay so watch for crap in the water; I've seen whole telephone poles and 55 gallon drums heading south after a bad storm. The only navigation suggestions I can make is to be very mindful of the channel markers after Turkey Point. The water gets skinny as you approach the end of the Bay.

Heck of a foloowing sea for ya. Here at Thomas Pt. it is blowin a steady 25-30,,so it is wippin out there. West side water is stackin up some, so east side might show some lower depths. The storms that came across the US yesterday are about 60mi west of the bay this am, travling NE.

I hope that build-up on the western shore holds through the weekend. Maybe we'll get the floats for the dock in!

I hope they don't have to open any gates on the Conowingo Dam due to heavy rain in PA. That can turn the upper Chesapeake into an obstacle course.

Someone I know who fishes the Susquehanna regularly told me today that the Conowingo gates have been open for two weeks now. The water is deep and brown, with many things-a-floatin'

I can confirm that the Bay is full of junk. Took the boat out last week and was continually jinking around logs.

Dang, Mike, we're hoping to cross tomorrow to Rock Hall or Fairlee and anchor for the night. I guess we'll find out. Nothing like testing the Kevlar beaching shoes and the built in crush zones on both of my bows :-)
