The breach certainly has cleaned the water in the local area and has provided a great opportunity to fish.
I have fished there at least 5 times this season and have had great success (3 keeper fluke this weekend).

I don't know enough about cause and effect here, but will report that the water in and around Bay Shore has little visibility and that is also the case for the Atlantique area as of this past weekend.

Water in lindenhurst has been very brown.
Even Hudson was very dirty when I was there last week.
Ocean was clean.

Brown tide has also hit this year for the first time in several summers.
