Had a Bosch plug drop its "nose" (center electrode and part of the porcelain). Fortunately the ground electrode caught the piece and it didn't fall into the cylinder. All it did was run bad. This was on a Ford product and I bought a set of Motorcraft.
The other Bosch that broke left the threads (with ground electrode attached) in the head on a small block MoPar engine. There was the rest of the plug, all the way to the center electrode, hanging from the cable. And I could see straight to the hole. Fluted extractor, square socket to fit it, extension and ratchet. Hammer to tap it in place. Backed right out and I put a used plug from my scrap colletion in there. Very happy neighbor but I don't know if the rest of the set got changed or not. But I changed, and took Bosch off my good list.
