Until the buoys are placed correctly when going out keep the green buoys on your left. Coming in keep them on your right. They are correctly placed on the north side of the channel even though the red buoys should be there. I spoke to Stu and drew him a diagram. He said they will place them correctly as soon as they can.

Simply amazing that they can't ever put them in correctly the first time.

At least they have the greens and the reds separated unlike last year when they alternated. Just use the GPS to follow your tracks from last year and you will be fine.

I saw alot of boats coming in thinking thats the channel should be fun to watch at low tide this weekend. Not only that but at night they will hit the sea wall.

Only those at D and G dock the rest are used to turning anyway. I would like to believe that we are smarter then that.

If anyone wants the GPS coordinates of the outer end of the channel tell me and I will post them. There is only about 1 foot of water between where the red & green are now at low tide. Hope no one gets in trouble there this weekend.

Putting them incorrectly might just be a strategy to drum up some business.

It's worked for them in the past.

Because the buoys are owned by SPBM. Patsies has no access to them unless they were to trespass and with the bad blood between the 2 places I don't blame PB one little bit for taking a hands off approach. The Wayne's have nothing honorable in their hearts.

Maybe Patsy's and SPBM don't get along. I don't know.
But Patsy's is shooting themselves in the foot by not cooperating with the buoys. Their correct placement affects their slipholders also.

Agree. They should have an obligation to their customers as well. Because they don't get along with Wayne is no reason to put their boaters in danger.

Buoys????, we don't need no stinkin' buoys...

No they don't get along.

Changing the subject, Johnathon, We saw a green Suberu at Harry Harris park in Taveneir this winter with NY plates. Was that your in-laws? There were a lot of people there that day.

In the beginning of the 2009 season, I was coming out of the south end of the marina after just being launched. I always go real slow. I was between the buoys just outside the sea wall and I got a crab pot wrapped around my prop. I came back in and they pulled me out of the water. It took a while to cut the pot off. It was wrapped around the prop pretty good. There was no damage. They dropped me back in and I was on my way. A week later, I got a bill for the haul out.

Ken

Could you explain how Patsy's is "not cooperating".

Are you suggesting that they go tamper with things that don't belong to them? Why can't the idiots at SPBM put them in right the first time? The past 3 years the buoys have been placed wrong each year making money for the extortionist crooks that own SPB.

this discussion of the buoys doesn't make sense. The best to see the channel is: There is a post painted white on the end of SPBM if you look to the other side of the river the is a flag pole white on some kind of a little park take a straight line between both and you have the right position of the channel. The buoys belong to SPBM that's "suppose" their respon sability to put them and the no wake zone buoys supplied by the town.

Tony I never noticed the white painted post or the flag pole I will have to look for them. As for the buoys I have always been under the believe it was your job to make sure they where placed correctly:) It doesn't matter to me where they are so long as they don't move them around that can get confusing.
