Did anyone receive the letter that SPBM sent out?
Looks like you can have some type of slip where ever they can fit you. for this season.

Sounds like they will do their past to accommodate anyone planning to return. There is no way to promise people their old slips but they will do what they can. I think that's great I'm glad to hear this! It was nice seeing all the work being done at the waterfront at every marina.

According to the info I got they are only fixing the G dock, the service dock and the D dock. That's all they expect to need now. They are not fixing the north marina. After the storm damaged boats that were in the yard on blocks or trailers many people will say the heck with it. We'll see what the marina looks like by may.

Hopefully, that will be enough slips for whoever wants/needs one.

The rebuilding of G dock will be good. It will be close to the new L shape pool.

They can always fix the C dock if they end up needing it later in the season. Is Patsy's fixing both marina or just his north one?

So they are down from 400 slips to what, 150 max?

Really kinda sad to watch the continued demise of what was once a really good marina.

The business has contracted. Mostly due to fuel prices but more so after Sandy. No marina is going to be full this year. Even in Naples Fl where my wife's son lives the rack storage facility he keeps his boat at is half empty. Probably no one paid a deposit after Sandy. Wayne is running the marina in line with the demand he expects this year. If he needs to he can put more docks in.

I received a letter from them even though I did not summer there since 2011. I believe they are trying to lure people back with the improvements that they are making. I am enjoying Haverstraw too much to leave...

Ken, what you say makes sense but some marina's are seeing a backlog for slips developing. I know it's pretty full by me and I think I heard that Mineseogo may have a waiting list once again? (Not sure on that)

The parade of boats leaving SPBM to places like Haverstraw has been going on for longer than just Hurricane Sandy.

They are leaving for Haverstraw for deeper water which I would do if I had a boat 30 foot plus. In this economy I don't think spending thousands of dollars on dredging to get some of the big boats back is cost effective right now.
We had new people on G dock last year. There always is a turnover for one reason or another.

Turn over yes
But
SPBM pushes away with the lack of up keep and getting what you pay hard earned money for

Ken

Some of those people with the 30' plus boats have been there for MANY years! Are you trying to say that they finally realized that there is deeper water elsewhere? What about the "big boat" people at Pennybridge? Don't see them leaving in droves.

Wayne

You got that chit right!

Are we starting another SPBM thread? The other one went 32 pages. Can we do more on this one?

Yep we are full at Minisceongo, with a list. And I think SS3 Pennetbridge will be. Saw people asking about slips last Saturday.

While Haverstraw is not full they have filling quickly! I will miss having the open slips behind my boat, we referred to those slips are the playground it was where we kept all our water toys. Good thing I sold my jetski!
