Pool was closed this past weekend, no lifeguard, hell the office didn't even no there was no one there. Labor Day weekend and no pool.
Class Operation.

That's one of the reasons my son refused to work there anymore...

Well you could always swim in the river Wayne. Oh wait, never mind!!!! ;)

People were still using the pool on Sunday with no lifeguard. It is a good thing nothing happened or there would be yet another new owner at the SPBM. No lifeguard and the gates were not locked...

Just dump in some bottles of Clorox and swim away!

Its just a shame, this Marina has the making of one of the best Marines on the river, but its just slipping away.

Anyone else remember the clorox fubar?

That was funny as hell. Sad, but still funny.

Yes, they made my son go out and buy it with his own money, then took forever to pay him back.

I didn't know about your sons issues Mike. I've seen the pool closed until the guy from the office went to the local store and returned with jugs of clorox while people waited at the gate to get in to swim.

That's what happens when they don't pay their bills. Glad to hear he finally got reimbursed.

I'm guessing the clorox adds enough chlorine but I was not comfortable with the solution.

Excellent point Wayne!

Clean your underware at the same time! :)

So explain this to me:
If we pay to use the pool in our dockage fees, than how come there all kinds of issues. Chemical balance isn't right(CLOSED), Health dept. stops by (CLOSED), no life guard (CLOSED). One drop of rain or clouds and the life guard runs home. (CLOSED) How hard can it be to operate a swimming pool for 12 weeks. I've even seen the life guard sound asleep with people in the pool.
How can we make this better for the kids going foward.

Or stay and ask them to fix the issues. Maybe they will listen to reason. I know Stu used to read this forum I don't know if anyone else does but I think a call or a visit to the office may work better then bashing them on a public forum. At least for those of us that are actually still customers.

Been tried many times Dave. Seems to work well, NOT!

Wayne

I wish I had an answer to your valid question. We used to really like the place but since it was sold to the current extortionist owner the place has mostly gone downhill. Sad to see actually but that's one of the many reasons they get no more money from us.

This weekend was a customer appreciation party but they never invited the customers, they told a few people and expected the word to spread. I found out about it pretty much when it was over. They also decided this year they would provide the pig and beer and everyone should pitch in to cook the pig and bring everything else. Did I mention they forgot to invite people so there was nothing else. A hand full of people showed not knowing they were supposed to bring their own food. It sounds like it was a bust I guess I didn't miss anything.
I bet next years party will be better.

Dave
Thanks for the report. Now we don't feel guilty we didn't go. We had someplace else to be saturday afternoon so we didn't make it. Sounds like I didn't miss anything either.
